
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson (born July 10, 1980)[1Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson is an American performer, actress, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Simpson aged 17 years old at the time, began her career singing in choirs at church. The singer was signed to Columbia Records in 1997. Her debut studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999) sold over two million copies across the United States and saw the commercial popularity of the single "I I Want To Love You Forever". Simpson altered her appearance to be more mature for her sophomore studio album Irresistible (2001). The album's title track was her second top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), certified it gold. In This Skin (2003) Simpson's third studio album was sold out in three million copies in the United States. Simpson was well-known for her romantic relationships with Nick Lachey and her wedding to him. Simpson also appeared on MTV's reality TV show Newlyweds, Nick and Jessica between 2003 and 2005. Simpson's debut Christmas album ReJoyce was released in 2004 and was certified gold. She made her debut in the film The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) as Daisy Duke. For the film's soundtrack, she also recorded the cover version of "These Boots Are Made to Walk" In 2006 she debuted her fifth studio album A Public Affair and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. Simpson made her debut in country music with the release of Do You Know (2008) which was her sixth studio album. In addition to her musical endeavors, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, a fashion focused collection that includes 34 categories of products. It's been the most successful famous brand of license in the history of fashion with more than $1 billion in sales as of today. Simpson also appeared on The Price of Beauty, a reality television show in 2010. She also supervised the fashion designs for Fashion Star 2 and 3. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson and has three children.
